Connexions PAYP & the Gateway ProjectThe Gateway ProjectThe Gateway project is funded by the Neighbourhood Support Fund (NYA strand) and run jointly with the Kings Corner Project this is in its fifth year of operation. This offers water-based accredited activities, computer based skills, and literacy / numeracy support to young people aged 14 to 18 years who are excluded, or likely to be excluded, from mainstream schools or those not in education, employment or training. Through the combination of activities this project develops the participant's self-confidence, addresses some of the issues affecting their learning, and has to date helped 90% of the young people either to remain at school to take exams or find training or employment. Positive Activities for Young People (PAYP)This project works with a similar target group to the Gateway Project and therefore the two projects compliment and support each other. PAYP provides activities during school holidays and also fund a Key Worker to provide support to the young people on an on-going basis. Prices:There is no fee for the young people to attend, but attendance is through referral only. Further InformationPlease contact Paul Anderson, Project Manager, to discuss the Gateway Project or PAYP further on 020 7253 0778
