Islington Boat Club is a water-based youth club for 9 to 18 year olds who can swim a minimum of 25 metres to come along and take part in water-based activities. All activities are run and supervised by qualified staff. Cost is £2 per day or £20 for the whole of the six weeks holiday. Full membership for a year is £45. Concessions for families on income support. We are open seven days a week from 11am to 4pm, (except Bank Holiday weekend, 26th/27th & 28th August), with activities on the water from 11 to 1pm, and again 2 to 4pm. Lunch is from 1pm to 2pm, when activities on the water stop but the Club remains open and we play games in the park We have a small canteen on site for basic snacks and drinks. We run lots of activities every day at the Club, such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, (depending on wind!), bellboating and power boating.
All of the above is flexible, it depends on what the members want to do on each day. We also do a lot more than two activities each day and this is only meant as a guide.
Canoeing courses - 10 places on each courseEvery week we will be running a One Star canoeing course, this is for people with little or no canoeing experience and is recommended for all new members. The cost is £10 per week long course and covers badge, certificate and entry to the Club for that week. Each course is from 11 to 1pm every day. Off-site Day tripsSailing ~ Cost £4 per trip. 12 places per trip. Three trips over the six weeks High Ropes ~ Cost £5 per trip. 8 places on each trip. Three trips over the six weeks Water skiing ~ Cost £6 per trip. 8 places on each trip. Three trips over the six weeks Victoria Park ~ Cost free. 10/18 places on each trip. There is a trips sheet for every single trip/course that we are doing. These will have all of the information on them and a parental consent form that must be signed by a parent or guardian. All activities that have a cost must be secured by paying a deposit or full payment. Every member must have a completed membership form and it must be signed by a parent or guardian. Every member that fills out a form is entitled to one free admission to the Club.
